As the year comes to a close, you may be feeling overwhelmed, stressed, unable to concentrate, tired and emotional – this time of year brings with it equal doses of fun and stress – so much to get done!

If you are feeling overwhelmed, here are my top tips to overcome seasonal stress:

1. Take a long hard look at that to-do list and if you don’t have one make one, then prioritise – what really needs to be done, what can be dumped and what can be delegated.

2. Minimise interruptions, whether from email, Facebook or office noise – schedule some ‘do not disturb’ time for yourself and really focus on the important tasks. Distracting thoughts should be scribbled down and actioned later.

3. Get out! When it all seems too much, change your environment – get some fresh air, go for a walk. I love to head to the beach with the dog and just look at the horizon.

4. Choose your party – you don’t have to go to them all! You have a choice about how you invest your time, energy and money.

Enjoy the last week of 2014, take some time to reflect on what you have achieved and bask in that.
